Business Bucket List

  • Family Photo Session of the Curry Family

Basketball has always been a passion of mine – it was my life as I played for so many years.  Simultaneously, I grew up watching the Golden State Warriors, attending games while tickets were cheap and while Thunder was still the team mascot.  I loved every second I spent at Oracle, Where Amazing Happens.  Then, amazing happened when The Splash Brothers took over the court.  The entire Warriors team suddenly became the most pure and beautiful definition of teamwork that I have ever witnessed.  They cheered on each other’s successes and became unstoppable.  Although I’ve always tended toward Klay Thompson who reps my jersey #11 like a champ, Steph Curry has always stood out to me for far more than being the league MVP.  He is humble; and that is one of the most admirable qualities, not only on court, but as a person in general.  That being said, it would be an honor to photograph his family one day.  I can tell that he values his family tremendously and has been gracious enough to share some of those moments with Dub Nation, so I would love to give back to the Curry family as a ‘thank you’ from all of us.

  • Photograph a Disneyland Engagement Session

Disney has always had my heart.  As a creative, I cannot help but appreciate every tiny, yet well thought out detail hidden within the Disney Parks.  The bright colors alone spark that child-like happiness all over again every time I see them.  So, how fun would it be to capture such joy as a backdrop to a beautiful love story?  As much as this idea excites me, I know that it will also bring a few tears to my eyes knowing that my brother, Tom, had his engagement photos taken at Disneyland not long before his accident.  However, I know Tom would be proud of me for continuing to pursue what I love, especially at such a meaningful place to our family.  Who’s up for a Disneyland engagement session in honor of Tom?!

  • Photograph an Underwater Engagement Session

Ever since my first scuba diving experience at the Great Barrier Reef in 2011, I have been obsessed with the idea of being an underwater photographer.  At first, I only imagined moving to Maui and going out on a boat regularly to photograph the tourists who were diving and snorkeling.  I dreamed of having a fun job after graduating college.  However, I came home to a not-so-fun job, where lucky for me, I met my husband (and obviously never moved to Maui).  Since then, underwater photography still sits as a lingering thought in the back of mind, so why not combine it with an engagement session?  As of now, I don’t even own an underwater camera, but I would sure love to it shot one day, even if it’s just at my parents’ house in their gorgeous swimming pool.  I can already envision a newly engaged woman in a long, flowy dress being held so delicately by the strong hands of her loving fiancé.  I often wonder if anyone would actually be interested in being photographed like this though.  Maybe one day the opportunity will present itself.

  • Photograph 30+ Weddings in a Year

Honestly, this seems like a big number to me right now, but a lot of things have changed and I’ve got much more capacity these days.  I’ve also got dreams and goals, and lots of work along the way.  Photography makes me happy though.  Creating something for people to cherish is an amazing feeling, beyond fulfilling.  So, shooting 30+ weddings in a year would be a way in which I can expand my reach and ultimately, spread more joy among the world by truly embracing my God-given passion.

  • Photograph a Destination Wedding in Outer Banks, North Carolina

Has anyone ever been to OBX?  This location is a hidden gem!  I had never been there until I started dating my husband who travels back to North Carolina every September for his family reunion.  Maybe I’m biased and love it so much because it’s his ultimate paradise, regardless, it’s charming.  What’s not to love about colorful beach houses lining the Atlantic Ocean?  I would be so grateful just to photograph an engagement session here, let alone a wedding.  Considering we are there every September though, which is not only a great month to get married, but right after peak season when everything is 50% off at Wings, I have to shoot for the stars on this one!

  • Photograph a Destination Wedding in Maui, Hawaii

This is my paradise!  Need I say more?  Although we do not get the opportunity to travel there annually (yet), we would love to make a special trip to experience the island as wedding photographers.  This would be a dream come true and is certainly making me brainstorm on how to make this a reality right now.

  • Photograph an International Destination Wedding

I’m hoping that my love for travel is apparent at this point.  There are countless destinations that I would love to capture wedding photos at, so why don’t you just tell me what you’ve got in mind and we can make it happen from there – sound good?

  • Have My Little Brother or Little Sister Second Shoot with Me

Both of my younger siblings have a pretty good eye with the camera, so I would totally trust either of them to second shoot a wedding with me.  My brother has always had an interest in all things retro, including film.  He tends to prefer editing his cell phone photos with any app that can replicate that which appeals to him.  Although he is not film savvy entirely, he would be the perfect candidate to learn the trade.  My sister on the other, being the youngest, is interested in a much more modern style.  Or whichever makes her selfies look best.  She is capable of thinking outside of the box, using her creativity to highlight the perspective of unique angles.  Having either of these two join me one day would be extremely fun and quite the bonding experience.  Love them both so much!

  • Successfully Running That Buzz Booth Simultaneously

Truthfully, this topic is kind of a double-dipper.  However, if you have yet to learn that I recently purchased a digital photo booth to rent out for events…well, I did, and I’m super excited about it!  Officially introducing my new company, That Buzz Booth, in case you missed the name drop in one of my recent blogs.  All I have dreamed up for it right now is that I am able to successfully incorporate it into my business workflow meanwhile growing SharpShooter Photography (and becoming a new mom…heh).  I GOT THIS!

  • Creating Financial Freedom

You know, it seems as if bringing up the topic of finances is unpopular, but I don’t see a problem with writing this down on my business bucket list.  Go back and read about My Why to understand where my heart is truly at.  Dreaming big, working hard, and finally doing what I love most.
